John and Debra Basile are first generation farmers. They purchased their farm in 2009 to start Monroeville Vineyard & Winery. John is the Wine Maker and Vineyard Manager. John is a 4th generation home wine maker who has shared his wine with friends and family for over 20 years before opening his Winery. He is a scientist by trade and has a great passion for wine making. Debra's degree is in Agricultural Economics and Environmental Science. They are a great team, have been married for over 27years and have 5 children. John and Debra have always dreamed of owning a farm and a family business. With much time and effort and help from extended family and friends their dream has become reality. The warm and welcoming Tasting Room has been opened since March of 2012. The property is located in beautiful Salem County and is surrounded by neighboring farms. There is plenty of seating inside and out. We welcome your visit and hope you enjoy our wine and our hospitality.
Our 4 acre Vineyard includes: Cabernet Franc, Chambourcin, Gruner Veltliner and Chardonnay. We purchase peaches, Nectarines, cherries, strawberries and more grape from neighboring farms. Monroeville also purchases Cranberries and Blueberries from Chatsworth and Hammonton. We are fortunate to be in an area where fresh fruit is readily available. Monroeville Vineyard & Winery is part of the Garden State Wine Growers Association, The Two Bridges Wine Trail, The Outer coastal Plain Association and The Vintage Atlantic Wine Region.
Our winery is a part of the Vintage Atlantic Wine Region. We are located in the fertile grape-growing region called the Outer Coastal Plain in Southern New Jersey.
