John and Debra Basile purchased their farm in 2009 to start their winery. John is the Wine Maker and has already won many Medals in his first 4 years! John is a 4th generation home wine maker who has been sharing his wine with friends and family for over 20 years. He is a scientist by trade and has a great passion for winemaking. Debra's degree is in Agricultural Economics and Environmental Science. They are a great team, have been married for over 25 years and have 5 children. John and Debra have always dreamed of living off the land and enjoy the challenge of the vineyard! The Tasting Room has been opened since March of 2012 and is located in beautiful Salem County and is surrounded by neighboring farms. There is plenty of seating inside and out. We encourage you to bring some snacks or purchase some of ours while you are here.
In 2015 we replanted much of our vineyard due to weather damage. The Vineyard includes: Cabernet Franc, Chambourcin, Gruner Veltliner and Chardonnay. We purchase peaches, Nectarines, cherries, strawberries and more grape from neighboring farms. We are fortunate to be in an area where fresh fruit is readily available. Monroeville Vineyard & Winery is part of the Garden State Wine Growers Association, The Two Bridges Wine Trail, The Outercoastal Plain Association and The Vintage Atlantic Wine Region.
Our winery is a part of the Vintage Atlantic Wine Region. We are located in the fertile grape-growing region called the Outer Coastal Plain in Southern New Jersey.
